About Reduta PWPW Foundation
The major tasks of the Foundation are: enhancement of awareness and national identity within the area of the economic activity of the Polish State and Society, dissemination of historical knowledge of economic development and economic activity of the State Treasury of the Republic of Poland over 1918-1939, consolidation and dissemination of historical knowledge of the activities of the independence underground during World War II and the Warsaw Uprising, with particular focus on the activities of group PWB/17/S and the Home Army group "Agaton", established by the employees of the Founder, activities with respect to commemoration of historical events, places and persons in the history of battles and martyrdom of the Polish Nation, both at home and abroad over the period between 8th November 1917 and 31st July 1990, consolidation and dissemination of historical knowledge of the activities of the anti-communist independence underground and soldiers, the so-called resistance II and commemoration of the victims of the communist regime, dissemination of contemporary economic knowledge about the role and principles of operation of the State Treasury companies in the modelling of the economic policy of the Polish State, with particular focus on the Founder's role in emission tasks with respect to the national currency and popularization of knowledge about safety of circulation of documents of public importance and innovation of documents generated in a teleinformation environments, as well as the principles of development and functioning of e-administration.
THE UNDERGROUND BANKNOTE PRINTER
In spring 1940, by personal order from general "Grot" Rowecki, major Mieczysław Chyżyński ps. (pseudonym) "Pełka" appointed a group of PWPW employees, under second lieutenant Czesław Lech's ps. "Biały" command, with an underground name PWB/17, who printed banknotes and other documents for the needs of the Home Army and sabotaged the activities of the German management of the Company.Więcej..
COMBAT IN DEFENCE OF THE PWPW REDOUBT
On the first day of August, right on the chime of 5:00 pm, about 50 thousand soldiers from the home Army and other independence seeking groups stood to fight against some 16 thousand German soldiers occupying the Capital of Poland.
